A description of the image

As an abstractionist, one needs to keep in mind that abstraction is not merely demonstrating novelty for the sake of aesthetic meaninglessness to decorate our walls with; rather, it is the representation of the novelty that exists in the thing being represented. Thoughts are things, and all senses pass through the constantly changing filter of hierarchical importance that generates the “us” we know. So, to paint, illustrate, or sculpt something abstract is actually to attempt to represent a greater portion of reality than a commonly conceived example of representational art.

This piece is titled “Before You Know It.”

The piece is Cut paper and Ink scanned and manipulated Digitally

The print is 12" by 9" or 30.48 cm by 22.86 cm

It is an abstracted view of stimulus as both symbol, dimension, and pattern—just some of the dimensions and attributes that do the heavy lifting of what something is, but more importantly, to us, what it means.
